JOB ROLE: Volunteer Support Worker
RESPONSIBLE TO: Support Worker
MAIN PURPOSE: To assist in the delivery of support and advice and general office administration relevant to the running of the Drop-In Service.

You should be highly motivated, willing to work to improve outcomes for vulnerable people with a vast range of needs, able to work under pressure, and have an awareness of personal safety and risk. You should also have good organisational and communication skills – good written skills are required to ensure that records are accurately maintained. You should be quick thinking and able to use your initiative when necessary.


  • To assist in the delivery of Support and Advice during drop-in sessions

  • Ensure all Paperwork is complete up to date following every drop-in session

  • Maintain effective relationships with all residents

  • Be clear as to what the Service can offer to ensure that residents understand the boundaries

  • Understand each resident’s needs and tailor Support Plans to each individual

  • Provide accurate and true information

  • Work as a member of a team, sharing ideas and maintaining communication

  • Familiarise yourself with our Policies and work within those guidelines

  • Assist in other duties in the absence of members of staff

  • Work to a tight schedule and complete work to meet deadlines

  • Reinforce House Rules in accordance with License Agreements by setting an example

  • Keep information and paperwork strictly Private & Confidential
