Discover your pathway to independence with us
Supporting Lives was established in 2014 with the specific objective of providing people with safe, supported accommodation in North East England. We currently operate a range of transitional support properties across South Tyneside, Durham, and Northumberland. Housing is one of the key factors in motivating, achieving, and sustaining change in people’s lives. We believe that everyone needs somewhere to live, someone to love and something to do and this is the narrative that drives the development of our organisation.
Our key aims:
Increase safety amongst homeless populations and reduce risk to our communities
Empower people gain the skills required to live independently and free of services
Increase an individual’s life skills and ability to self-manage their own behaviour
Deliver measurable improvements to a person’s physical and mental health, and wellbeing
About Supporting Lives
We are experts at working with people who are socially marginalised, stigmatised and most in need. Our task is to provide the right support at the right time and give them the skills to live independently and become needed. Most of our referrals have histories of failed accommodation placements and will often present as chaotic with physical/mental health disorders and significant behavioural difficulties. We place great emphasis on providing environments that encourage positive behavioural change. This is achieved by investing in the skills, competencies, and qualifications of a professional workforce with the passion and knowledge of experts by experience.
Our model affords flexibility in terms of criteria and eligibility due to ever-changing needs and demands, as our client demographic can vary. Support is provided to sustain tenancies, address primary health needs, and promote lasting behavioural change amongst our residents. People are supported through co-produced care plans and are encouraged to be proactive in identifying the nature of the support they receive.
